Farm Day Funky Food: Homemade Bread and Butter

During Farm Week, we read The Little Red Hen.  So, on Friday, our Funky Food was making BREAD!  All the Spunky Monkeys said they will help.  EAch group had a ziplock bag of ingredients.  They had to mix it all together by squeezing it.

Wesley, Maria, Robert, and Sabrina

Gordon, Madison, Tinija, and Xander

Kevin, Nathaniel, Maddie, Nicole, and Zuleydi

Next, we had to add more ingredients to the mixture to make the dough.  It got hard to squeeze this time.
Maddie's holding the bag so that everyone can help all at once.
Wesley thought it was cool that I was standing on the table.
Next, we had to form the dough into loaves of bread.  Mrs. Martin and Mrs. Wilbanks had to do it becasue the dough was so sticky.  They had flour all over the place.

Each groups' bread dough ready to bake.
While we waited for the bread to bake, we made homemade butter.  Each Spunky Monkey got a jar with heavy whipping cream and a little salt.  Then we had to shake!  We played music, they shaked their jars and froze when the music went off.  We had fun!
